Hi, Just joined in search of information for a friend of mine. I am looking for information on a Buick powered Sprint car that would have run in the Cincy area back in time period around 1956-58 time. My friend would have been about 17 or 18 years old at the time. He was driven out by his uncle and shared a ride on Saturday nights for a man who he thinks lived in California and towed across the country using several drivers. He remembers it was Buick powered believes multi carbs, alloy wheels and he remembered it had a cage with a small wing on it. He believes the other driver in the Cincy area was someone from the Indy circuit. My friend suffered a memory loss because of incorrect medicine prescribed to him by a doctor who mis diagnosed his condition. He is getting better but has some trouble with memory at times. He cannot remember the color of the car or the number. Believed the car did not have any sponsors on the side either except 2 letters N.G. for the initials of his name. He described the speedway he raced at and possibly he raced at Eldora and in Cincy area. I know this is a long shot but would make him so happy to recapture this info if possible. I have known him for several years now and would like to help out. He built and owned his own stock car in 1959-63 time period and drove several midgets and sprint cars in the past on and off. He does know what he is talking about but the memory of racing in Ohio is fuzzy. Do not know how many Buick powered sprinters were around your area back then but assume not that many!! I own a vintage 2 man sprint car almost completed and a 1 man sprinter just starting to rebuild. I have owned a few midgets and a 1937 Chevy stock car in the past. Any info or leads on this would be very appreciated. thank you.
