Track held up pretty good with rim ridding in 3-4 mid program on. 1-2 were slick as wind and sun beat on it.
They had a huge problem getting everyone in the pits and the first heat ran off like 9.00
NW sprint heat ended at 1.45 am
Also had a huge problem with Cones being hit an knocked into the track and dissabled cars not exiting far enough off the surface.
Enough with the minor complaints. Racing was ok. I get the feeling the more they tinker the better they will get. Jon Foxstro was in a leauge of his own. Hud cone ran well as did Joss Moffat who made a late race charge to grab third.
Crowd was huge. Im guessing over 4000 fans Main grandstand 90 percent full and turn two probably had over 700 with dozens in the other three and a few hundred on the backstraight.
Only drawback was the lateness. The track seemed more forgiving than all had first thought with plenty of room to miss accidents, get stopped ect. The one flip was a tommy tip over caused by running over a wheel.
I was pleased with the car count. 35 NW 19 Wing 49 mods.
Few motors let go last night. See you at Sprintweek!
Anyone else who attended thoughts? Chuck

Good opening night, they definitely had a late start. Kept pushing back the drivers meeting. I'm guessing the tech procedures may of had something to do with it. Racing was good, was impressed with the track surface for the first race. Thought for sure it would have been worse. Do we thank the contractor for this or the prep crew?Enjoyed the view from the pit stands. The pits could use some work. THEM CONES, THEM CONES, they slowed the show down with cone cautions. Even with the late night feature I am glad I attended opening night.
