Unless this was co sanctioned, I remember this as being a K.I.S.S. race and not MSCS.
The results are right but Im almost possitive it was a K.I.S.S event as I remember feeling the irony of INDIANA being mentioned in a KY event.
Chuck, who remembers 30-31 sprinters turning out and Dickie on a rail with a prettty easy win.

I was there as well and it was not a KISS race, it was a MSCS race. Below is the release from then MSCS president/PR man Sam Stockton. 21 cars were on hand.
Sam Stockon, Terre Haute, Indiana - The second weekend for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series found a third winner. Dickie Gaines of Mitchell, Indiana won the MSCS feature at the Florence Speedway, Union, Kentucky. Gaines had won the big race at Bloomington the night before and added to his winnings with the Florence victory. A large crowd watched a good Non-Wing Sprint Car race that went green to checkered with all twenty-one cars running at the end. Gaines battled with Matt Neely, Robinson, Illinois with Neely taking the lead early in the race. There was a lot of passing in the field with Brandon Petty getting the "Hard Charger Award". Dave Darland also gained seven position, like Petty, but the award goes to the driver starting furthest back. Heat races were won by Gaines, Darin Hagan, Riverside, California, Neely, Daron Clayton, Sikeston, Missouri. The B Main was won by Bryan Clauson with Mike Weber getting the Steel Block Bonus out of the B Main. The first round of Hot Laps had Brad Stevens hit the wall and flipped trying to avoid a spun Ray Gregory. 33 cars were in attendance at Florence. Shane Hollingsworth of Indianapolis passed Alex Shanks for the MSCS point lead during the night with Chase Stockon, using his last provisional, Jerry Ruble, and Bryan Clauson rounding out the top five. Tri-State Speedway, Haubstadt, Indiana will host the next MSCS race on May 1. It will be the second leg of the "Mike's Motors 41 Shootout" which Dave Darland is points leader.
