The Nicholsville Dragway was apparently located in the City's east side, and ran back in the 50's. I am looking for some FACTS on this facility, ie., what years was it in operation, who built it, who promoted it, exactly where was it. If you know anything on this Drag Strip, or know someone who might know something about it, or would have photo, please let me know. Thanks

Keith, there was a drag strip around that time, near where the Beechmont levee is. Close to the old El Rancho Rankin. Don't remeber what it was called. Imzie

Keith There was a Nicholasville Drag Strip located in Nicholasville Kentucky just south of Lexington Ky. It operated in the 60's and had a lot of Big names run there it's now an industrial park but you can still pick out the main strip. If this is the one you are talking about I have family and friends in the area and can check for additional information.

I want to say I used to see an old sign on Lindale Nicholsville road or Laurel Lindale road. This was 10years ago and the sign was I think near a pay lake.

The dragstrip was located on state rte 222, straight across the street from Laycock cutoff rd. Now it has homes built where it was, the blacktop strips were still there a few years back.we think it closed in the 60s.
