I received an E-mail regarding the Hilltop Speedway (I have very little info on Hilltop) from a woman who remembers growing up in Kenton County near a farm called “Hilltop Farm” (on Stephens Rd. & owned by Paul Newsome) that supposedly had an old lake nearby that was emptied and made into a race track. The lake was referred to as the “Race Bowl”, and I am wondering if anybody has any recollection of this possibly being the Hilltop Speedway. Any help would be appreciated.

I actually grew up not more than a 1/4 mile from where it used to be. If you search google maps for Frontier Rd you will see where it used to be. On the sattelite image it is just a hair NW and it looks like a giant pear. My brother and I use to fish in that lake as kids. The owner of the land the last time I knew was Mr.Moore(old man moore is what we called him) and he lives in either the last or second to last house on the right on Frontier. The old concession stand or what's let of it is still there and some of the poles that had the p.a. speakers are still there. We moved out on DonVictor dr in 1977 and I was told then it had been shut down for years. My father was also a Kenton County police officer and the old timers use to talk about it all the time. If I can help you anymore on this please let me know.
