HOFFMAN TO FIELD AN ENTRY IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAM PIERCE RACING, AARON PIERCE TO DRIVE
Loveland Ohio ( January 2 ,2007)—Hoffman Auto Racing today is announcing that the Team will participate in the USAC Silver Crown Series in conjunction with Sam Pierce Racing. The car is a Sam Pierce Riley & Scott, driven by USAC veteran Aaron Pierce. Primary sponsorship will be with long time Hoffman sponsors Kroger and Tide, associate sponsorship will be from Bounty and Pringles.

Part of our agreement is to share technology on pavement and dirt. Aaron Pierce won multiple races in 2006 in the series, and is a real threat to win the 2007 Silver Crown Championship. Sam Pierce Racing was formed to support the racing career of son Aaron Pierce. Aaron began his career in 1998 in Legend and Kenyon midget cars. He moved up to full size midgets in 2000, winning the NAMARS “Rookie of the Year”. Aaron’s USAC career began in 2000 in midgets. His first career USAC Sprint Car win came in 2003. Aaron earned the Silver Crown” Rookie of the Year” title in 2004. Sam Pierce Racing competed in the inaugural year of the new Silver Crown Pavement series, with Aaron earning 2 wins and owning the speed records at Chicagoland(174.295 mph). “ I appreciate the support from Kroger/Tide/Bounty/Pringles and Hoffman Racing. We look forward to a great year together in the Silver Crown Series”, said Sam Pierce, President of Sam Pierce Racing.
Hoffman Auto Racing (HAR) competes in the Sprint Car and Silver Crown Divisions of the United States Auto Club (USAC). HAR was founded in 1929 by August (Gus) Hoffman. Three generations of Hoffman’s are involved with the Team. HAR is the all time leader in USAC National Sprint Car Team victories with 68, and National Championships with 8. HAR also has 7 Silver Crown victories, for a total of 75 National wins. HAR celebrates 78 years of competition in 2007.

- 1929-1960 Gus campaigned Sprint Cars and Midgets, his drivers included Eddie Sachs, and Don Branson
- 1964 Gus’s son Richard became co-owner of the Team
- 1973-1984 HAR fielded Indy Cars, including 7 Indy 500 starts
- 1989 HAR won the first of 8 USAC National Sprint Car Championships with Rob Hoffman as the crew chief(’92,’93,’96,’97,’99,’02,’04)
- HAR is the winingest Team in USAC Sprint Car history
