Midwest Sprint Car Series (26 cars)
Short Wins Third in a row!
Brady Short from Bedford, Indiana took advantage of some bad luck that came upon a fellow driver and won for the third time in 3 races at Lawrenceburg. It was race #2 for the MSCS Sprint Cars 2010 season. 26 cars were in attendance trying to qualify for the 25 lap $2000 to win feature. When the green flag flew 20 cars took the flag, everyone following the front row of Robert Ballou and Brady Short. As Ballou and Short went into the first turn, the car everyone was watching was Blake Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick went around both Short and Ballou and took off in search of his first win at The Burg. Fitzpatrick was a rocket ship around the 3/8 mile track. He was pulling away from the rest of the field with each lap that went in the scorebook. He was so fast that he began catching the back of the field within the first 8 laps of the race. Fitzpatrick came up on a slower car attempting to put him a lap down, and got bottled up behind the slower car. As the traffic in front of the leader got very racey, it was Fitzpatrick who would get too high in turn 3 flipping his car and ending his night in what would have been an easy win if he hadn’t crashed. With the dominant car out of the race, Brady Short took over the race lead, and that was all he needed to win for the third time in a row. Brady would lead the final 12 laps without much competition. Jonathan Hendrick would do his best to chase down Short, but Short was too fast. Hendrick finished second followed by Hunter Schuerenberg, Andrew Elson and Chase Stockon. The Heat race winners were Fitzpatrick, Hendrick and Ballou. Joshua Clemons won the B-main. The MSCS Sprints next race will be Sunday May 30, 2010, at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana.

BUDWEISER UMP MODIFIEDS (29 cars)
Kramer dominant in third win in 2010!
Joey Kramer started on the pole with some help of a young fan who drew the number 1 starting position during the redraw. Anyone that follows The Budweiser UMP modifieds knows that Kramer doesn’t need any help, and starting on the pole was bad news for the rest of the 20 car modified field. As the green flag flew, Kramer went to the lead, and began to pull away. A first lap incident involving, several cars, including current point leader, Brad Weick, and last week’s winner JD Largent, put many of the fast guys at the back. It wouldn’t hurt Kramer, as he pulled away to win by more than a full straightaway. It was Kramer’s third win in 2010 at Lawrenceburg, and he became the first driver to win 10 races since the Speedway was reconfigured to the 3/8 mile oval. As Kramer won easily, Largent, Weick and defending track champion Jeff Harris were racing their way to the front after both Largent and Weick restarted from the back after the first lap incident. Following Kramer across the line were Matt Boknecht, Bob Pohlman, JD Largent and Richard Luckey. Weick came back to finish sixth with Harris right behind him in seventh. Heat race winners were Harris, Boknecht, Chuck Griifis, and Bob Pohlman. Jim Szekacs won the B-Main. Brad Weick continues to lead the Budweiser UMP modified point standings by holding a 70 point lead over Joey Kramer. The Budweiser UMP modifieds will be back in action The Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday June 5.

OVS PURE STOCKS (28 cars)
Mark Bruce wins 3 in row!
By winning the last 2 features in the Ohio Valley Screenprinters Pure Stocks, Mark Bruce had to start in last position. It didn’t seem to affect him much. He was so much faster than anyone else, he went from the back to the front and on lap 11, he took the lead and went on to win for the third time in 2010, and gave him 3 wins in a row. As Bruce was driving to the front, Kyle McIntosh would set the early pace as he and Scott Hensley battled it out up front. Pat Weber and defending track champ Will McRoberts also spent some time racing hard in the top 5. As the number of laps left wound down, all eyes were on Bruce who was picking off multiple cars every lap. On Lap 11, he kept his car on the bottom of the track and took the lead away from McIntosh and held on the final 4 laps to take the checkered flag. Scott Hensley who trails Bruce in the point standings also trailed him across the line followed by Pat Weber, Kyle McIntosh, and Will McRoberts. The heat race winners were Rick Vance, Scott Hensley, and Will McRoberts. Don Grace won the B-main. Mark Bruce leads the OVS point standings by just 10 points over Scott Hensley. The OVS Purestocks will be back in action at the Burg on Saturday June 12.
