Darland Wins for second time in 2010!
Dave Darland, from Walton Indiana won for the second time in 2010 at The Lawrenceburg Speedway in The #39 Gene Goodnight Sprint Car. Darland had a busy night as he was doing double duty driving both a USAC midget, and a sprint car. He went out and won his heat in the sprint car, and jumped back in the midget. After running strong for much of the midget feature he settled for a top 5 finish. Darland would then climb back in the sprint car and would start from the pole of the 25 lap Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint feature with Jerry Coons, Jr. alongside. When the green flag flew it was Coons, Jr. who got the jump and took the early lead. Coons was piloting a brand new Hoffman Sprint car and was looking very fast doing it. Darland was following in the tire tracks of Coons, for the first 6 laps until he made his move underneath him and moved to the front. Coons would continue to keep Darland in his sights but Darland had other plans; Plans of pulling away and winning his second feature at the Burg, and for the fifth time in 2010 in the Goodnight #39 sprint car. Coons began to fall back and put on a great race with Brady Short for the runner up spot for the final few laps. It was Coons that was able to hold on to second with Short coming home in third, followed by Hunter Schuerenberg and Scotty Weir. Heat race winners were Schuerenberg, Weir, and Darland. Shane Hmeil won the B main. Andrew Elson continues to lead the Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Car point standings after posting a sixth place finishing following an early spin in the feature. The Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Cars return to the track on Saturday July 24.

Miles Dominates at Lawrenceburg!!
Shelby Miles from Bloomington, Indiana has won both races and track championships. He can add another feature win to his credit and he was able to do it in dominating fashion at The Burg. Following the redraw, Miles would start 8 and quickly work his way to the front running second after 1 lap. Defending track champ, Jeff Harris would start from the pole, and he would lead the first 3 laps. Even Harris, who is always one of the fastest cars, could not hold off Miles for too long. Miles was ready to take the lead after just 1 lap, but Harris was doing his best to keep Miles behind him. On Lap 3, Miles went around Harris and the rest they say was history. It was an impressive display of power and handling. The #76 modified was able to go wherever it wanted. High, and low, Miles was an absolute rocket ship. Lap after lap, the interval between Miles and Harris increased. Miles cruised his way to the relatively easy win. Harris eventually lost second to Devin Gilpin with Harris, Richie Lex and Daryl Herbert rounding out the top 5. It was a tough night for a few drivers in the top 10 in points for The Budweiser UMP Modifieds. Point leader Brad Weick spun out multiple times before pulling his car to the infield with mechanical problems. JD Largent broke in his heat race and was unable to transfer out of the B Main. Chuch Griffis and Scotty Kincaid, both in the top 10, had terrible nights as well finishing at the back of the feature field. Heat race winners were Gilpin, Lex, Broc Burton and Harris. The B main was won by Steve Duty. The Budweiser UMP Modifieds return to the track on Friday July 9.
