Kramer wins for 4th time in crash filled feature!
Joey Kramer would draw the #1 starting position in the redraw which would put his car on the pole. Kramer who already had 3 feature wins going into Friday’s night race, didn’t need any added help by starting on the pole. This 20 lap Budweiser UMP modified feature would have a tough time getting started due to multiple wrecks that occurred on lap 1 on several restarts. After the likes of JD Largent, Jason Largent, were eliminated along with other contenders, the race settled into green flag racing with Kramer pacing the field ahead of Brad Weick and Devin Gilpin. During several restarts, Weick would dive low on Kramer but Kramer running the top side was able to keep his momentum up and maintain the lead. Behind Kramer and Weick, Devin Gilpin was closing in on Weick and applying some pressure to the current point leader in the standings. While Weick and Gilpin were racing it out, Kramer was pulling away. The fans have seen it before and Friday night was no different. Kramer led all 20 laps and picked up his 4th victory of the year, and 11th overall at The Lawrenceburg Speedway, to lead all drivers on the 3/8 mile configuration. Gilpin was able to slip around Weick for second, with Weick coming home third followed by Daryl Herbert and Bill Wagner. Heat race winners were Chuck Griffis, JD Largent, and Brad Weick. Brad Weick continues to hold the Budweiser UMP modified point lead. The Budwesier UMP Modifieds return to the track on Saturday July 24.
