LAWRENCEBURG CHEVROLET SPRINTS
Sweet Victory for Boespflug!
A Few years ago, Chad Boespflug was in a serious sprint car wreck at Lawrenceburg, and there was talk he may never race again. Chad was determined to get back in the car. After recovering from the accident, and being cleared to climb back in the race car, it hadn’t been a couple easy years. The team struggled with their engines, going through several in one year. They also dealt with an ill-handling race car. Even since 2011 started just 6 weeks ago, it has appeared Chad has found new life. His first opportunity at redemption came when he drew the pole position for the 25 lap Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Car feature race. This would be his best shot at picking up that coveted first feature win at Lawrenceburg. The green flag flew and Boespflug was able to jump to the lead. He had to deal with Justin Grant who came from the 5th position to run right up on Boespflugs tail tank, even making contact from time to time. Boespflug new as long as he kept his car glued to the bottom, Grant would have a hard time getting around him. His plan worked as he held on for his first feature win at Lawrenceburg. Boespflug also assumes the point lead for the Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Cars and sets his sights on the bigger picture of possibly winning the 2011 track championship. Grant finished second, still seeking his first win at Lawrenceburg, followed by Logan Hupp, Joss Moffatt, and Andrew Elson. BUDWEISER U.M.P. MODIFIEDS
Defending Champion Weick wins exciting feature!
Brad Weick started from the pole position in the 20 lap Budweiser UMP modified feature, and in typical Brad Weick fashion, jumped to the lead and looked like it would be another easy night for Weick, which have been hard to come by for the 4 time and defending track champion.
